  • Purpose

    To control and manage the County Public Library System.

  • Membership Criteria

    The board shall consist of 7 members appointed by County Council for terms of 4 years, commencing on January 1 in the year of appointment. One member shall be appointed from, and be a resident of, each of the 6 council districts, and the seventh member shall be appointed at large by majority vote. Members may serve 2 consecutive terms and then must go off the Board for one term before being reappointed. (S.C. Code 4-9-35 Chester County Code 3-520) Board members shall serve at the will and pleasure of Council. Board members term shall also run concurrent with that of the Council member.
