Chester County Recycling Centers + Landfill

The Chester County Recycling Centers and Landfill provide services for managing and recycling waste within the county. Multiple conveniently located drop-off centers allow residents to responsibly dispose of various recyclable materials, while the central landfill offers a controlled site for non-recyclable waste.

Beyond waste management, the department educates the public on effective recycling practices and implements programs aimed at increasing recycling rates and reducing landfill volume. In addition, this department also manages the replacement of damaged or missing road and street signs throughout Chester County.

  • Recycling Center Operations

    Manage and operate multiple recycling drop-off centers throughout Chester County.

  • Landfill Management

    Oversee the operation and maintenance of the Chester County Landfill.

  • Regulatory Compliance

    Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding waste management and recycling.

  • Site Maintenance

    Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all recycling center sites and the landfill.

  • Recyclable Material Processing

    Process and prepare recyclable materials for transport and sale to recycling facilities.

  • Solid Waste Disposal

    Manage the acceptance and disposal of non-recyclable solid waste at the landfill in a safe and environmentally sound manner.

  • Road and Street Sign Replacement

    Replace damaged or missing road and street signs within Chester County.

  • Public Education

    Promote and educate the public on proper recycling practices and waste reduction strategies.

  • Special Collection Events

    Plan and execute special collection events for items not typically accepted at recycling centers.

Household Hazardous Waste Day (HHWD)

HHWD is held 2x a year at the Government complex. Dates to be announced.

SATURDAY C&D Customers

No Dump Trucks, Dump Trailers or enclosed loads unless there is an attendant on site at the C&D unload station.

ALL loads must be inspected from top to bottom.
