2025 Chester County Comprehensive Plan
Chester County is growing and evolving every day, and the changes only seems to be picking up. Recognizing this, the Chester County Council has directed a new Comprehensive Plan to be written to help guide the location, form, and function of this growth.
The objective? Nothing short of doing our best to plan for the promotion of “physical, social, and economic growth, development, and redevelopment, as well as public health, safety, morals, convenience, prosperity, [and] the general welfare as well as the efficiency and economy of its area of jurisdiction.”
SC State Law requires that all counties update their comprehensive plan at least every ten years, and review it every five years, in order to best orient County policy and priorities with the conditions on the ground.
So what does this mean for you? Simply put, this is your best chance to leave your mark on our County’s zoning, land use, growth and development laws for the future. There are two initial ways to get involved with the process. First of all, fill out the short, five-minute survey below and share it with your family, friends, and community. Secondly, come out to one of our public input meetings, held all around the County. They are informal, drop-in style meetings with interactive displays (with refreshments provided!)
