Chester County Auto Maintenance

The Auto Maintenance Division is responsible for keeping the county's fleet of vehicles in safe and reliable operating condition. Their work includes scheduled maintenance, routine servicing like oil changes and tire rotations, and handling minor repairs to keep vehicles running smoothly.

Their proactive approach to vehicle care helps to extend the lifespan of the fleet, reduce unexpected breakdowns, and ensures that county services can be delivered to the residents of Chester County without unnecessary delays.

Responsibilities and Services

Motor Pool

Vehicles used on a rational basis to maintain continuity of departmental operations.

The Auto Maintenance Division encompasses a wide range of services, including:

  • Provide vehicles and equipment for County departments.

  • Purchase and maintain parts for the repairs of vehicles.

  • Repair and maintain the County's vehicles, heavy equipment, ambulances, dump trucks, trailers and small engine equipment.

  • Provide motor pool vehicles for departments with occasional vehicle needs.

  • Record the repair and maintenance history on all County vehicles, heavy equipment and small engine equipment for the life of each unit.

  • Evaluate vehicle conditions and make recommendations for replacement of all County vehicles.

  • Keep a mileage log for all county owned vehicles.
