Chester County Public Works Director

The Chester County Public Works Department is committed to ensuring a safe and functional environment for all residents through the maintenance and improvement of infrastructure and services.

Responsibilities and Services

 

The Public Works department encompasses a wide range of critical services, including:

  • Roads and Bridges

    We maintain all county-owned roads, ensuring they are safe for travel. This includes repairs, resurfacing, grading of gravel roads and vegetation control along roadsides.

  • Recycling Centers + Landfill

    We oversee the collection and disposal of residential and commercial solid waste and recycling within the county. This includes managing collection schedules and working to promote responsible waste disposal practices.

  • Facilities Maintenance

    Our team is responsible for the upkeep and repair of all county-owned buildings and facilities. This includes custodial services, lawn and grounds maintenance, and managing small construction and remodeling projects, as well as general maintenance like plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.

  • Auto Maintenance

    We ensure that all county vehicles are in safe and working order by providing a full range of maintenance and repair services, from oil changes to major engine work. This also includes the heavy equipment used for waste management and road maintenance.

  • Litter Enforcement

    To maintain the beauty and health of our county, the department manages litter collection and supports enforcement efforts through our dedicated Litter Control Officer.
